Staffslug was formed in 1999 by Dave Roberts & Mark Leese to cover the county of Staffordshire, in the UK. More recently the LUG has seen something of renaissance in the form of an activity surge amongst its users, which has since amounted to some major structural changes to the organisation’s website and the scheduling of more regular meet-ups within the area. The changes have even earnt us a little publicity in Linux Format issue 113!
At present, Staffslug is currently re-evaluating its mission/group direction for the future and regular meetings are being scheduled (with matters arising where appropriate.) Contributors are also working hard to provide helpful articles for the main website, of which there should be plenty more to see in the future.
With the Linux user base continuing to grow worldwide, it’s become even more important that those whom may be new to Linux are made particularly welcome, regardless of experience. Staffslug isn’t just for hardcore Linux evangelists! Linux is for everyone, and we are more than happy to help with any query or to provide installation/troubleshooting support when and where-ever possible.
This page will be continuously updated in order to reflect the information regarding Staffslug, so feel free to join the mailing list soon, as you could personally be helping to shape the direction of Staffslug in future discussions.
